

About Professor Faith
Prof. Tim Faith is a Professor at CCBC and a practicing solo Maryland Maryland attorney. Prior to entering private practice in 2009, Prof. Faith spent ten years managing information technology services for a health center in Maryland, and has worked on a variety of technology consulting projects throughout his career, including the implementation of electronic health records systems, custom software and reporting tools, and website applications.
Prof. Faith began teaching at CCBC in 2013 as an adjunct, and joined the full time faculty for the Spring, 2014 semester as a Visiting Lecturer. He was hired as an Assistant Professor for the Fall, 2014 semester, and primarily teaches business law and a variety of legal studies courses as a member of the Legal Studies department in the School of Business, Technology & Law. Prof. Faith served as the Coordinator for the Legal Studies Department at the Essex campus from 2017-2021. In 2020, Prof. Faith was promoted to Associate Professor, and in 2025, Prof. Faith was promoted to Full Professor. In 2025, Prof. Faith was also awarded the Inaugural Spark Award by the College for his teaching innovation work.
After OpenAI's release of ChatGPT in 2022, Prof. Faith began working with various generative AI tools in relation to his teaching practice. He is also the chair for a College-wide workgroup on using AI in teaching that he founded in 2023. In 2024, Prof. Faith co-taught an academic year-long Connections course for fellow faculty on integrating AI into teaching. In 2025, Prof. Faith released two educational applications for integration into his courses, including Contract Negotiation, which permits students to negotiate with AI for various contract or tort scenarios and draft an agreement based on the negotiation, and Lawyer's Quest which is a role-playing game for students to learn more about various law concepts related to specific learning objectives for law courses.
Prof. Faith holds a bachelor's degree in fine art from the Maryland Institute College of Art (1997) and a juris doctor from The University of Baltimore School of Law (2008). Prof. Faith was admitted in 2008 to practice before the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
